how to break the news ?

Beitragvon Avid » 19. Mai 2006 01:05

'ello,

Dear "guru"

When something new is added to Lexicon, I use a news MOD to warn the members.

There is plenty of ways to do it : sending an email, a private message/whatever... but it's not so convenient. So, I'm looking for an automatic procedure.

In fact it would be very inspired to change my Lexicon link (pict) with a flashing animated gif, like the procedure used for incoming privates messages, for instance. But even if I'm not a faillure... I'm not a php expert (shame on me!) and it's the reason why I go towards you again !

Hopping you'll have a good idea as simple as the one you gave me a couple of days...

Just have a look on my forum site (apple style like) > here

Hmmm? That isn't simple?
In the lexicon database no time stamp exists which could use for it. :?

okay for the time stamp. you're right.

Anyway.. don't you think it would be possible to insert a post function at least, like the one used into > Tuto-Management MOD ?

When a new tutorial is validated, it's possible to post a message in any forum at the same time (on/off option by way of the ACP).

No because it is a lexicon (encyclopedia) and not a tutorial!

It should be only a collection of smaller explanations.
For big explanations (eg. tutorials) with comments or reasons to discuss, are MODs like the Knowledge Base and the Toto-Management! ;)

By the way.

The Tuto-Management looks like a charm. :)
Do you know whether it somewhere an English or even German translation gives?
I only seen this MOD in french. :?
